The ESEE-5 was designed by military SERE instructors as a hard-use downed pilot’s survival knife. With its 6.4mm blade thickness, it's a big fixed blade that's tough, durable and practical. These knives are made from high carbon 1095 steel. The knife also features spine jimping, full tang construction, lanyard hole, bow divot drill on handle, and a glass breaker.

The top of the MOLLE Sheath back has both an adjustable handle retention strap and a flap that can be slipped over the pommel of the knife and secured tight with the paracord and cord lock thus making the sheath jump safe. Both the top and lower portions of the MOLLE back have built-in belt loops and MOLLE straps.

This model has a 3D handle, offering a more sure grip.
