Only found on Spyderco knives, CPM® SPY27® is an advanced, particle metallurgy stainless steel that offers a superior balance of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. Developed in close cooperation with Crucible Industries®, it features a proprietary mix of alloys enhanced by the amplifying effects of its signature element, cobalt. This elite expression of the Native® 5 Lightweight proudly showcases CPM SPY27 in its full-flat-ground, PlainEdge™ blade. The blade’s design features a textured index-finger choil and opposing thumb ramp that allow a forward-positioned grip for enhanced control during detailed cutting tasks. It is supported by a precision-machined back lock mechanism housed within an ultra-lightweight fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle. Injection molded in a signature blue color characteristic of our CPM SPY27 family, the linerless handle features a high-traction Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern, a generously sized lanyard hole, and a broad-based pocket clip that is configurable for tip-up or tip-down carry on either side of the body.
