Opinel No. 8 Outdoor Knife Red is Opinel's interpretation of what an Opinel should look like to the outdoorsman. It comes in a lime green / earth handle made from Polyamide, that is significantly more water resistant then the regular wood models. It has a partially serrated edge for quick cutting of cordage or hard cutting tasks of wood if needed.
A thumb hole replaces the regular nail nick for quicker one-hand deployment and they even integrated a 110 decibels pealess whistle for emergencies. Opinel uped its classic design to survive with you in the outdoors.
This knife features the Virobloc Safety ring. The Virobloc safety ring was invented and implemented in 1955. This simple yet effective locking system greatly improved the original knife. The ability to help prevent the blade from opening when closed was added to the Virobloc in 2000.
