Rolling Hitch

The rolling hitch is a knot that can be used to tie a rope to a pole that will receive tension from an angle, possibly parallel to the pole.

Bring the Running End over the poleStep 1:

Bring the working end around the pole from above.
Go another round
Step 2:

Go around the pole once.
Tuck the running end under itself as shown
Step 3:

Bring the working end across the 2 rounds.
Bring the Running End over the poleStep 4:

Bring the working end around from beneath the pole and tuck it into the round made in Step 3.
Just pull the 2 ends to secure the knot

Completed Rolling Hitch.

Tighten it to secure it.
