Incised Wounds

Incised wounds are caused when a sharp object like a knife or blade cuts the skin in a straight line. They may be quite deep.

Lacerations are wounds that are not clean and tend to be irregular. It could be caused by barb wire or sharp thorny plants

Abrasions are wounds in which only the surface of the skin is rubbed off. An example of an abrasion is if you fall off a bicycle and some skin is scraped off.
 A puncture or gun shot woundPuncture Wounds

Puncture wounds are wounds that are caused by an object such as a pen or nail penetrating the skin. The resulting wound is circular in appearance.
Gunshot Wound

Similar to the puncture wound just that it is caused by a bullet entering and leaving the body. If there is no exit wound, it means the bullet is lodged somewhere inside the body. Exit wounds tend to be larger than the entry wound.

Contusion is an internal injury with no external bleeding. It is usually caused by a blunt object hitting the injured area.
